God is SO dang smart!

So this morning while I have been at work (boooo!), I read a chapter from Attributes of God about His knowledge. This is stuff I have heard repeatedly and known about God, but I have never truly meditated on it and let it sink in. It just brought me into a place of absolute adoration and worship.

God is omniscient, which means he knows EVERYTHING! This is confirmed throughout scripture such as in Ezekial 11:5, "For I know the things that come into your mind." It is also confirmed in Daniel 2:22, "he knows what is in the darkness." Absolutely nothing can be hidden from God. He is perfectly acquainted with every detail of every life from heaven to earth to hell. People who are not walking with the Lord are disturbed by God's divine knowledge. Who wants somebody all up in their business right...

But God's knowledge is comfort to the believer.

In times of confusion, we can be comforted that "he knows the way that
        I take." (Job 23:10)
When we need someone to lend an ear, we know his promise that
        "before they call I will answer;
                   while they are yet speaking I will hear." (Isaiah 65:24)

"Known unto God are all the works from the beginning." (Acts 15:18)

We always say, "God already knows what is going to happen." If this was not the truth, then God could not be supreme. If there was any action left up to chance, then God's hand would not be in it. The future is absolutely dependent on Him. Anything that would happen void of his permission would be independent of Him, and God would cease to be supreme.

God has decreed an end for his elect (salvation) and he has also decreed a means to the end for us (faith).
This is the most amazing part of all of this...God has seen every one of my sins, but He still fixes His eyes on us and He continues to pour out his amazing grace and His love every single day. It is amazing that His knowledge of the darkness in this world does not cause Him to withhold his grace but actually caused Him to send His son for His glory alone.
